St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a Director of College Counseling to begin July 1, 2022. The mission of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service.
Position: The Director of College Counseling oversees the college counseling office and ensures excellent communication with and counseling of high school seniors and their families. The Director writes college recommendation letters for roughly half the senior class and attends professional development activities to maintain and extend their knowledge of colleges and universities nationally and internationally.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and six to nine years of experience in college admissions and/or college counseling. Additional desired attributes include outstanding written and verbal communication skills, extensive knowledge of colleges and their programs, exceptional time-management and organizational skills, general flexibility, good humor, and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Experience with Naviance is preferred. Travel to colleges and universities, as well as attendance at national and regional conferences, will be required for this twelve-month position.
