The Langley School is seeking to fill the position of Primary and Lower School Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for supporting the Heads of Primary and Lower School. This is a position that requires independence, sound judgment and discretion. It requires an ability to work with multiple constituencies and exercise patience and understanding consistent with the mission of the school. A deep commitment to students and their growth is a must. This is a 12-month exempt position that includes a generous benefit package.
Essential functions, duties and responsibilities:
Consistently supports and acts in accordance with the school’s mission and values
Ensure the safety and well-being of students
Utilization of and data retrieval from school databases
Responsible for relevant student record-keeping
Track, monitor, and follow-up on student attendance
Proof, print, and mail report cards as specified by division requirements.
Track, process, and mail student as defined by individual divisions: student supplemental files: recommendation forms, letters, transcripts
Manage administrative concerns for the division including office equipment, building maintenance, and office supplies
Assist in the creation of the annual schedule
Assist in and responsible for the administrative tasks related to the state licensing requirements
Maintain student files and emergency binders
Maintain and reconcile division finances
Upholds professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion
Work a daily schedule that begins no later than 7:45 A.M.
Edit Primary and Lower School communications at the discretion of the respective head
May be asked to perform operational school duties
Other administrative duties as assigned by supervisor and/or head of school
Relevant administrative experience required
Advanced computer skills required
Working knowledge of databases required
Experience working in school environment preferred
Established competency in dealing with multiple constituencies required
Established competency in oral and written communication required
Experience working in professional environment with focus on confidentiality required
Experience working in a school environment preferred
